How we rank results
Within your search area, we order by listing tier (verified, claimed, unclaimed), then profile completeness and recent reviews. There are currently no paid placements on Espressisti.
1. Your search area comes first
Ordering only ever happens inside the area you searched: country, then administrative area, then city. A company is never pushed into an area it does not cover, and no ordering factor can move a company across areas.
2. Listing tier
Inside that area we group listings into three tiers, in this order: verified, claimed, unclaimed. Verified means the company completed its profile and its VAT number was checked against the EU VIES register (or a business document was verified where VIES is unavailable). Claimed means a representative of the company manages the listing. Unclaimed listings are built from public business data and nobody from the company has taken them over yet.
3. Profile completeness
Within a tier, listings with more complete information rank higher: contact details, opening hours, a description, the machine types and services handled, and a precise location. Completeness is earned by filling the profile in, never by paying.
4. Recent reviews
Next we look at reviews from registered users that were approved and published in the last 24 months, both how many there are and the resulting average. Older reviews are labelled dated and are excluded from the average. A star average is displayed only from three recent reviews upwards.
5. The city you selected
If you pick a specific city rather than a whole area, companies located in that city are placed first inside their tier. Companies elsewhere in the area still appear, just after them.
What never affects the order
There are currently no paid placements on Espressisti: no company can buy a position, and there are no sponsored blocks. Manufacturer brands are all structurally equal — a brand filter narrows the list, it never reorders it, and no brand is ever boosted.
